Kedarnath is one of the holiest Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located on the Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open only between the end of April to the beginning of November. Kedarnath is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and is the highest among them. It is also the most remote of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites and is flanked by breathtaking snow-clad peaks.
Kedarnath is located in the Uttarakhand region of India at an elevation of 3,583 m. The area is surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks and offers breathtaking views of the mountain landscape.
The weather at Kedarnath can be unpredictable due to its high altitude. Summers (May-June) are mild with temperatures ranging from 10-20°C, while winters are extremely cold with heavy snowfall. The best time to visit is during May to June, September to October.
